In China, GB/T 20394 is relevant to certain sports artificial turf products and includes requirements and test methods covering various product characteristics.

For European sports applications, relevant EN/DIN specifications may apply. For professional football, the FIFA Quality Programme provides a separate performance and testing framework for football turf.

These systems should not be treated as interchangeable.

For example, an outdoor landscaping product should not be judged solely using professional football requirements, while a professional football field should not be evaluated only using general landscaping criteria.

The applicable standard should therefore be established in the purchase specification and contract before the product is supplied.
